The Japanese Bamboo Baren is a traditional handheld printing tool, perfect for relief printing without a press.

Featuring:

- Natural bamboo covering - the textured surface aids smooth, even ink transfer

- Versatile and lightweight - suitable for oil-based inks on lightweight papers or traditional moku hanga (Japanese woodblock printing)

- Ideal for lino and woodblock printing - a reliable tool for students, beginners, and experienced printmakers alike

To use: curl your fingers under the handle and apply pressure with the heel of your hand, rubbing the back of the paper with firm, brisk strokes. For delicate papers, insert a thin protective sheet like baking parchment to reduce wear.

A beautifully simple and effective tool-great for any printmaking toolkit.
