ARTIST BIO
Adam Bell is a printmaker who lives and works in Canberra. After completing high school in Junee he studied printmaking at CSU under Manni Redlich and Arthur Wicks.
He was a founding member of the Wagga Space Program that produced the Unsound Festival until 2006, and numerous editions of print and recorded matter.
U/S stocks impressions from Adam's ongoing "Compact Cassette" series. These works emerge from his preoccupation with the graphic and sonic form of the compact cassette, and the crucial role cassettes have played in catalysing social change and enabling the spread of nascent music cultures: hip hop, techno, punk, metal, noise, and all kinds of experiments and adventures in sound.
