U/S was established in 2022 by Elaine Camlin
The opportunity to open Unique State Art Space within the Renew Wagga framework and with the guidance and support of Eastern Riverina Arts has been a dream come true.
For the past few years, I have been working via a bag on wheels to offer art therapy and develop community-driven programs. The restriction of space and location meant I was reliant on securing venues to host each activity.
Unique State is a place to call home, a space distinct with a personal style and offering that speaks to my values and drive for developing a printmaking hub, and a place that celebrates creative wellness and communication.
I live and work in regional NSW, regularly exhibiting in group and solo shows and participating in print exchanges, projects, and prizes. I have been developing and running projects for community in Wagga Wagga over the last decade. In 2020, during the global Covid-19 pandemic, I facilitated the Pandemic Print Exchange (PPE) with 38 artists working in isolation across Australia and Internationally.
I hold a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the ANU School of Art and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (Communications and Creative Industries) from CSU and a Masters of Therapeutic Arts at The MIECAT Institute.
